In Their Words

"I'm a single mother. What I saw in Women's Money Matters was a way to empower women to be financially independent. You don't need an unreliable boyfriend. You don't need a husband if that doesn't happen for you. You can do it on your own."

LauraProgram Leader

"Before I started the topic, 'financial literacy' brought me feelings of anxiety."

AnonymousParticipant

"Our staff values Women's Money Matters because we recognize how fundamentally important financially literacy is. It's the springboard for anything our residents want to do in their lives. It's great to have hopes and dreams, but that financial foundation is how they're going to get there."

🌟 We’re always so happy to hear amazing stories full of resilience and determination💪 Deonne, who graduated from one of our Financial Future programs a few years back, shared that she was able to buy her daughter an inhaler thanks to our financial wellness programs. This was an emergency $200 expense that she was able to cover with emergency savings that she didn’t have before being a part of Women’s Money Matters.

Thanks to the knowledge she’s gained and the saving changes she made through our financial wellness programs, she was able to provide for her daughter's emergency needs. She embodies the power of community and financial empowerment!💰
Deonne's financial wellness journey is a testament to the impact of financial empowerment. It's about more than just numbers on a sheet—it's about empowering women to take control of their futures and provide for their loved ones with confidence. We love celebrating wins! 💖✨

Calling all changemakers! We are looking for passionate volunteers to guide our financial wellness program participants!

We need ten coaches for our English Financial Futures program, which runs Mondays from 6:30-8 PM. Women in the program, like Samantha, need support to reach their goals. Samantha shares, “My financial goal is to be debt-free, have savings, an emergency fund, and save money for my future.”

Additionally, seven volunteers are needed for our in-person YWCA Lawrence Life Launch girl’s program that runs on Wednesdays.

If you have a heart for empowering others and are looking for volunteer opportunities, join us in making a difference. Your time and expertise can light up the path to financial wellness for many.

“I appreciate the time the people took to teach us and give us information, as well as everyone's understanding and patience. Thank You All!” - WMM Graduate

Please visit our website for ways to get involved! Link is always in our bio!

🎊A huge round of applause to our financial wellness program participants who attended the Spanish Cybersecurity Level-Up Workshop! They have just taken the steps to learn how to protect their digital identities and secure their finances, and their dedication to enhancing their financial health is amazing.

Led by Juan Vasquez, Managing Director & Senior Information Security Officer at State Street, this workshop teaches women the crucial steps to secure themselves and their financial futures in this digital age.

Thank you to our organization partner @wfboston for making these level-up workshops possible!
